Americans will never admit that our demand for drugs is the problem. No. It's all somebody else's fault and responsibility. Meanwhile, jobs are going to immigrants and India/China as we have a shortage of employable people because their all too wasted to work.

But just what is the ratio of druggies in this country vs non-druggies? Not enough to create a labor shortage or to demonize all Americans as drug users, that's for sure. Just as the illegal aliens are just as guilty as the employers who hire them, the drug suppliers and the users are equally guilty too.

The drug dealers would not sell their drugs here if no one would buy them. If you go to an American night club, almost everyone is doing drugs. Americans do drugs. In my office building, the maintenance staff finds them on the elevators at least once a week.

Most Americans don't hang out in nightclubs and do drugs, nor anywhere else and that was my point of which you totally ignored. I noticed you still want to blame just the users and not the suppliers too. They are both guilty!

I don't know how you assumed that I was STILL blaming anyone. I am just telling you what I see, which is a reality and not a fantasy like you wish it to be.

You kept repeating that drug dealers wouldn't sell drugs if there were no buyers. That is true but I get from that you are more apt to blame the buyers. What you see and what the actual statistics of drug usage in this country are two different things. I don't live in any fantasy world. I know we have a drug problem in this country but I thank God that most Americans do not use drugs.

I didn't keep repeating anything. I posted once above and mentioned it only once but now I will mention it again. It is a supply and demand kind of thing. If no one buys it, they can't sell it. If we have drug dealers in America it is because there is a demand for it just like anything else. Maybe most Americans above the age of 30 don't abuse drugs but the younger generation sure has, if only to try it for experimental purposes. Therefore creating a demand.

Smuggling is still illegal regardless of how you morons want to twist this to be the American's drug addicts fault. Just like you morons spin that we need illegals because we invited them here with jobs.... WRONG....We need to enforce all the laws whether it's the addict or the smuggler

It is a fact that if there were no demand, there would be no drug smugglers. Similarly, if there were no demand for illegal aliens workers, the problem would go away. Heavy fines and jail time for employers of illegals might help cure the second problem. Do we need rehab for employers? No one has suggested a way to curb drug demand. Until there are some workable ideas in that area, we have no choice but to enforce the border. We could do a lot of good by continually reducing the volume of daily traffic permitted until it is within the capability of the Border Patrol to do its job effectively. A change in rules that permits hot pursuit and lethal force would also be a step forward on curbing the drug smugglers. Let's get off the blame game and come up with ideas.

scattered thoughts.

The drug problem is an example of why our border and immigration policy needs to be focused. We should focus enforcement on undesireables, and not on those who do respectable work.

We have a 4.9% unemployment rate up from 4.3% at its lowest point about 6 months ago. The unemployed are disproportionately alcohol and drug abusers, excons (probably imprisoned for drugs) and mental health cases (probably caused by drugs. Meth/LSD/prescriptions and non-imported drugs are the biggest problem here in IL.)

What do we do with the marginally unemployable? I don't want to give them welfare. I don't think forced rehab works... or is Britney Lohan atypical?

If Mexico wants to send its workers here, can we cut a deal and send our slackers there?
